Heavy Duty Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking System for Compact Storage

Very narrow aisle pallet racking (VNA) is a selective pallet racking system with a very narrow aisle, designed to reduce wasted space in the picking aisle by using a special VNA truck to pass through the very narrow aisle. The VNA system offers 100% pallet selectivity, which helps to make it one of the most efficient systems when handling different SKUs in one warehouse at the same time, such as raw material warehouses.

Very narrow aisle pallet racking is space efficient in two ways:

• It requires less aisle space and frees up more storage space.

• Pallets can be stacked to a higher height than standard racking systems, thus further increasing the available storage capacity.

Very Narrow Aisle pallet racking utilizes a high level of retrieval equipment to reduce operating space requirements and increase storage capacity. Narrow aisle pallet racking is a high-density storage system that allows direct access to all pallets, ensuring optimum stock turnover. High-level storage racking requires special handling equipment to load and unload the racks. Rails or electronic guidance systems can be installed to assist these machines and to protect the structural integrity of the racking.

The storage and pick-up position can be designed as a cantilever at the beginning of each aisle so that a normal forklift truck can store or pick up pallets from this position while the turret truck works within the VNA service aisle, thus increasing productivity.

When designing a VNA racking system, special attention must be paid to the dimensions of the forklift truck, taking into account the width of the picking aisle.
